Governance
Parent Child Coalitions were established throughout Manitoba to bring together parents, early childhood educators, educators, health care professionals and other community organizations within a geographic boundary or community. Parent Child Coalitions work collaboratively to support community-based programs and activities for children aged 0 – 6 years and their families. We focus on the priorities of positive parenting, nutrition and physical health, literacy and learning, and capacity building.
The Seven Oaks Early Years Coalition is a non-profit organization. Core funding for the coalition is provided by Healthy Child Manitoba.
Our Vision: To be a coalition that works towards the best possible outcomes for children and families living in the Seven Oaks region.
Our Mission: We are committed to ensuring healthy lifestyle outcomes for children and families through multi-sectoral partnerships to facilitate community development.
Goals & Objectives: Our goal is to create a common healthy child vision in the region and utilize resources more efficiently by bringing together community strengths and resources within Seven Oaks, through partnerships with a variety of child, family and community programs and sectors.
This approach promotes and supports community-based programs and activities for children and families, with a priority focus on the early years (age 0-6). Our goal aligns with The Healthy Child Manitoba strategy, which is prevention and early intervention strategy to achieve the best possible outcomes for Manitoba’s children.
To their fullest potential, Manitoba’s children will be:
- Physically and emotionally healthy;
- Safe and secure;
- Successful at learning; and
- Socially engaged and responsible.
